Dr. Stuart S. Malawer is the Distinguished Service Professor of Law and International Trade at George Mason University (Schar School of Policy and Government) and was awarded the Distinguished Faculty Member of the Year from the university. He has a law degree from the Cornell Law School and a Ph.D. in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania (a joint degree with the Wharton School and Graduate School). He also studied at Harvard Law School and Oxford University (St. Peter’s College). Dr. Malawer served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Virginia Economic Development Partnership. He was appointed by Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe to the Virginia Committee on International Trade and reappointed by Governor Northam. He is the author of three recent books on the World Trade Organization, U.S. national security law, and global trade published by Wm. S. Hein and Company. He is the author of the five-volume Federal Regulation of Internation Business. He is a former Chairman of the International Practice Section of the Virginia State Bar.
